Middle Bass Island Marina Development and Operation

Issue

The continued development and operation of the marina at Middle Bass Island State Park.

Status

Project moving slowly.

Background

Nearly $2 million in Federal funds have been obtained through the BIG Program for development of the transient facilities at Middle Bass Island, as well as more the $1 million in Ohio Waterways Safety Funds for acquisition and development. But the progress seems to be slow and the operation of the harbor as a well-managed transient facility also seems to be coming along slowly.

BAO Position

BAO believes there needs to be an accelerated plan for the development of the marina and it's adjacent support facilities.
